Memories fade. The reason we started Logincident has not.

An old ledger lying open on a dusty floor, its columns filled in by hand.

You can rarely go back and take the right photograph. Fourteen years on, that is still the problem worth solving, and the reason the business exists.

No one can trace any photographs that might have been taken at the scene. The CCTV has been wiped. There is no way of identifying or contacting the individuals who saw the fall.

A fairly typical scenario facing the insurance investigator on receipt of a claim brought weeks, months, even years after the incident. The event itself is remembered. The detail around it is not.

You remember you saw an iceberg;
you don’t remember what shape it was.

Gary Davison  /  Founder

The business confirms that there was an accident, but beyond a scrawled handwritten note in an accident book no one can remember the light, the state of the floor, the type of injury, or the name of the shopper who helped the claimant to her feet. Memories fade.

But it’s the details surrounding an accident that will determine whether to defend the claim or to settle, and if to settle, it is those details which define the hand the insurer can play and when they should play it.

The assessment of good evidence early in the process can be transformative. It can defeat a claim or ensure that it settles on terms otherwise unattainable and with a significant saving in third-party costs. The quality of the evidence is the single biggest factor in how a dispute unfolds.

That was the idea behind Logincident when it was conceived fourteen years ago: to use the mobile and app technology then emerging to capture evidence at source, and to give insurers the best fighting chance.

In the intervening period we have significantly evolved, maximising the capture of information at the scene, developing the notification process, adding checks and two-way communication, and providing the presentation of the data collected around the multiple bespoke needs of customers and industries. At the same time, we have extended beyond the core capture of insurance claims to risk, to sustainability, to quality and a host of related incident types that help keep workplaces safe and ensure production keeps rolling with the minimum of friction.

The same underlying need each time, and a business that grew wider than insurance because of it.

Identity redrawn 2026  /  New site  /  New platform

The key driver remains just as relevant today. The evidence that decides a claim or the issue that causes a risk is still gathered, or lost, in the first few hours.

Fourteen years ago, policyholders were encouraged to use their phones to record that data. Today they expect to.

The more interesting part is where it is heading next.

A new chapter

AI can and will dramatically improve the speed and quality of how risk and claims are captured, how they are assessed, and how the underlying issues that caused them are resolved.

Individuals and businesses will always face risks and will always have accidents and pursue claims. AI will never eradicate human frailties, acts of nature or failing old machinery. It cannot create or replace evidence. The fundamentals of our business will not therefore be replaced by AI, it will only be enhanced.

And that enhancement has begun.

Two major AI initiatives have now been introduced (both in beta and set out on our website) which we believe will provide significant benefits to the reporting of insurance claims and the scope of risk capture.

This is a pivotal point in our history and the perfect point for me personally to move aside. So, with Jordan Nugent as Chief Executive, I am stepping back from the day to day and continuing as Chairman, a change of role, not of commitment.

We have been fortunate to work for many years with some world-leading organisations and with some incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable individuals within these organisations. We have developed and finessed products around the requirements of these organisations and the guidance of the individuals and will continue to do so as technology and needs develop in this fast-moving digital age.

Jordan has been at the heart of these relationships and the advancements that our extraordinary development team have achieved. He has acquired a unique understanding of the impact and benefits that data technology can have in the workplace risk and insurance claims worlds and with this experience he now leads the business at a very interesting time.

You can rarely go back and take the right photograph. You cannot ask the witness whose name nobody wrote down. Once the detail has gone, it’s gone.

But you can give people a better way to keep it, and a better chance of playing the hand they actually hold to reduce risk and the impact of accidents.

Fourteen years on, that still looks like a good reason to build a business.
